New addressees insertion
The memorization method in the address book is a very simple one. All you have to do is insert the name of the person, add the character ":" and then insert the pertinent GSM number. Every addressee has to be inserted in a new line. More numbers can be associated to a contact, but they have to be separated by a space. Once completed the insertion of data remember to click on "Save address book", otherwise such data will be lost. Pay attention to the message confirming data have been saved properly: in case of errors in your address book, in fact, no data will be saved. To sum up, you have to write each line in one of the following ways:
name:number
name_surname:number
name-surname:number
NameSurname:number
Groupname: string of GSM numbers or names (already existing in the address book) separated by a space.
If you wish to separate code and number simply type a slash (/) or a dash (-), but not a space!
Deleting existing peopleTo delete one or more addressees it is sufficient to remove the pertinent lines from the address book. Remember to press "Save Address Book" to enter changes.
Modifying existing data
It is possible to bring changes to names a/o GSM numbers. Remember to press "Save Address Book" to enter changes.
Lists of distribution
It is possible to create lists of addressee to whom deliver messages at the same time: it is enough to give a name to the list, add the character ":" and then indicate the string of GSM numbers or names (that must be already existing in the address book) separated by a space. If repetitions are inserted, these won’t be deleted; when sending, however, the program will automatically remove repeated recipients, avoiding to send more times the same message to the same number.
Cancelling last changes
If changes have been brought and there’s no wish to save them, it’s sufficient to turn to another page of the service without saving. If the address book has been saved, there’s no way of recovering previous data.
NOTE: “off-line” elaboration
It is possible to carry out all previously listed change and insertion operations in the address book without being connected to the Internet, saving in this way the costs of connection, just following these instructions:
- Open a text editor (for instance ‘Notepad’)
- Insert the address book following the rules above listed
- Save the address book in Your computer
- Select the whole address book and copy it using the “copy” function
- Connect to the Internet, access TEN service, click on “set up address book”
- Click on the window of address book insertion and use the “paste” function to add previously prepared data.
- Click on “save address book” to activate changes.
Obviously it is also possible to carry out the opposite path, in order to save on one’s own computer the address book previously prepared with TEN:
- Connect to the Internet, access TEN service, click on “set up address book”
- Select the contents of the window containing the address book and copy it using the “copy” function
- Open a text editor (for instance ‘Notepad’)
- Use the “paste” function to add data to the text editor.
- Save the resulting file in Your computer
Distribution groups
This function allows to create lists of mobile numbers (containing thousands of numbers, with no limit) in a simple and fast way.
Creation of a new groupInsert in the appropriate box a name that can identify the new group to create, then press "Add group". A page will open displaying a box in which the numbers of addressees can be inserted, separated by spaces, tabs, or new paragraph command. Data can be extracted from other programs installed on your computer: you don’t have to type them again, it’s easier to use the “copy/paste” function as described above in the "Off-line elaboration" section. When saving the group, the numbers are saved in increasing order; all repeated numbers are deleted; possible errors are reported (wrong numbers, non-GSM, numbers containing alphabetic characters, etc…)
Modifying a group
Select in the appropriate box the group that you want to modify and click on "Modify group". A page will open identical to the one that appears when creating a new group.
Deleting a group
Select in the appropriate box the group that you want to delete, write “yes” in the appropriate confirmation box and click on "Delete group". Pay attention: deleted groups cannot be recovered in any way.
ADDRESS BOOK (OLD METHOD)The following is the old method of insertion in the address book. We suggest that you don’t use it, because it is less functional than the new one.
New addressees insertion
Identify an empty line of the address book. Every time you enter the address book there are a few empty boxes at the bottom of the list. Type the name of the person in the left box ("labels" column), then write in the box next to this his/her GSM number, repeat if necessary the operation in other empty boxes, then press "Save Address Book": the address book will be saved and more empty boxes will be added.
Deleting existing peopleIf the name of a person is deleted from the "labels" column and the "Save Address Book" command is chosen, the correspondent line will be eliminated.
Modifying existing data
It is possible to bring changes to names a/o GSM numbers. Remember to press "Save Address Book" to enter changes.
Lists of distributionIt is possible to create lists of friends or colleagues to whom deliver messages at the same time: it is enough to give a name to the list that has to be typed in the "labels" column, and indicate the string of GSM numbers or names (that must be already existing in the address book) separated by a space.
“Restore” function keyThis function key undoes last changes made and brings the contents of the address book back to the last saving.
Address book advanced management
Search number
To carry out a research for a number in the address book and in the distribution groups it is necessary to insert the name (or part of it) or a number (also partially) in the "Search/Delete number or name" box. It is possible to search more numbers or names, separated by a space. This function can be useful to find out if a number has been mistakenly duplicated.
Delete number
To delete a recipient we suggest that you first look for it; if the research results in what you were looking for you can proceed by typing “yes” in the confirmation box: in this way all found data will be deleted, both in the address book and distribution groups. (Look out! This is a definitive process: deleted names and numbers cannot be restored in any way!)
Cleaning the address book
This function deletes automatically from the address book inexistent, “wrong” or unusable numbers, basing on the result of previous delivers. This avoids sending useless messages that couldn’t reach their destination. there are two “levels” of cleanliness: by selecting the "Existing numbers only" option, the program will delete from the address book the numbers that are marked with a definitive error code such as 000, 001, 101 (inexistent number) only. By selecting "Inexistent numbers and temporary serious errors", instead, the program will delete from the address book all numbers hat are marked with error codes 000, 001, 101 (inexistent number) and, in addition, codes 035, 036, 037, 011, 111 (temporary errors with high probability of occurrence). This includes, for instance, expired or lost (or no longer used) prepaid cards that haven’t however been deactivated by their owners. In the majority of cases it is useless to send messages to such numbers because they will never reach the person that you want to contacted, even if we can’t exclude that some of them will be, one day, reactivated.
Replacement of a number
This function replaces automatically a number in the address book or distribution groups with another one. It is useful when a correspondent has changed his/her phone number. Through the research tool all data found in the address book will be automatically changed, independently from the fact that the may be included in a group or not. (Look out! This is a definitive process: deleted names and numbers cannot be restored in any way!)
